Akin is a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) student in Learning Technologies at Pepperdine University, where his research focuses on Learning Engineering (LE), System of Autonomous Systems (SoAS) and Continuous Process Improvement (CPI). His academic work explores how socio-technical affordances can enhance readiness through innovation in career-based technology environments. Akin holds professional certifications in Computer Network Systems Engineering, Lean Six Sigma, and multiple Texas Educator credentials in Career & Technology Education (CTE).
